A study revealed how much Argentines spend on cosmetics per year | Diario de Cuyo - News from San Juan, Argentina and the world

Makeup routines, beauty tutorials and the influence of big brands have generated a change in the customs of both men and women who have decided to implement greater care in their physical appearance.

This is how the Picodi.com analysis team decided to carry out a study among 9,300 people from 44 countries to find out the trends and habits related to beauty products both in Argentina and in the rest of the world and the results they are amazing.

According to what was revealed by the survey, only in Argentina women spend an average of $236 annually on beauty products. But that's not all: breaking any kind of stereotype or macho thinking, Argentine men also join the new trends with an average annual spending of $113.

The study indicates that, the Argentine woman normally has 7 lipsticks, 2 lip liners, 3 blushes, 3 mascaras, 8 nail polishes and 7 eye shadows.

Another interesting fact from the study is that in the region, Argentine society has the most reasonable attitude when spending money on cosmetics. By comparison, in countries like Colombia, Chile, and Peru, a large number of people don't think about saving on beauty products ($277, $316, and $327, respectively). Also, the country where more money is spent on cosmetic brands is the United States.

Compared to other countries in the region, the favorite products to buy are mascara, lipstick, concealer, eyeliner and foundation. This means that simple looks are more popular, in “nude” tones and that manage to cover some imperfections, more than other popular products in other countries such as shadow palettes, blushes and eyebrow products.

In the ecological aspect of beauty products, it can be seen that for both Argentines and Argentines they are important and although many times due to economic reasons they are difficult to afford, if they find this range of "eco-friendly" products at a reasonable price affordable opt for them.

The survey also revealed that – unlike other countries in the region – Argentines prefer not to put on make-up every day, although they try to apply some product more often and, on average, most of the respondents spend between 5 and 15 minutes putting on make-up , once again highlighting the preference for natural looks and not so loaded with products as in other cultures or societies.
