The president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Madrid (COFM), Luis González Díez, yesterday collected the Community Pharmacy Health Award that the Institute for Research and Social Development of Rare Diseases (Indepf) awards within its Awards for Rare Diseases 2021 .

At the event organized by Indepf at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas, headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis González thanked the distinction that represents "an encouragement to continue working on the needs of patients and a recognition of the work of pharmacists and the role we can play in health and society in the future”.
During his speech at the gala where different institutions, organizations, personalities and health, research, management, sports or communication professionals were awarded, among other activities, Luis González urged to strengthen collaboration between health professionals . In this sense, he pointed out that "one of the challenges of our social and health system is to build an effective collaboration framework between health, social and care services to provide comprehensive and higher quality care to patients with rare or chronic diseases" .
Finally, the president of the COFM encouraged having pharmacists and the pharmacy, where citizens "can be sure that they will always find an outstretched hand and a committed health professional who knows how to collaborate, listen and get involved to achieve better results in health through pharmaceutical care”.
The Indepf awards aim to recognize and distinguish the experience and professional qualities of the different organizations and institutions in the socio-health field, as well as the professionals that make them up.
