The Balearic Government fine with 24,000 euros to Ryanair for the collection of hand luggage
The General Directorate of Consumption of the Balearic Government has imposed a fine of 24.000 euros to Ryanair for the practice of collecting the hand luggage that passengers introduce in cabin.

"We are the first autonomous community that puts a sanction to Ryanair for the collection of hand luggage," said Alonso, who has assured that the Balearic Executive has based the filing of this fine in different sentences.

Change in luggage policy
From Facua have recalled that, in 2018, the airline changed its free luggage gratuitous policy and began to apply an economic surcharge.The only passengers exempt from this payment are those that have bought their tickets with the priority boarding rate that, with an added price, allows you to continue climbing the plane with both packages and carry both in cabin.
According to Facua, the Balearic administration considers that the inclusion of a clause that enables the collection of a surcharge for raising hand luggage to the cabin of the plane must be reported as "an abusive practice".
