Political upheaval in the country after this Saturday Íngrid Betancourt, pre-candidate for the Presidency, resigned from the Centro Esperanza coalition due to serious differences with Alejandro Gaviria due to the political support he has received in that alliance.

In this sense, Íngrid Betancourt will go alone on behalf of her Green Oxygen party for the Presidency of the Republic.

However, it is still uncertain that it could happen inside Centro Esperanza, where the candidate Sergio Fajardo stayed, of whom Íngrid Betancourt said in SEMANA, for the moment they will not grant him the endorsement of the Green Oxygen party.

“Actually, none of us have any endorsement. Until we go to register, and the deadline is February 4, no one has endorsements. I don't have an endorsement, neither does Sergio; In other words, none of the members of the Coalition have been issued the guarantee”, explained Íngrid Betancourt in an exclusive interview with SEMANA.

However, Betancourt made it clear that the endorsement by the Verde Oxígeno party can be issued to Sergio Fajardo without "any problem."

“It is a letter that the director of one of the parties can sign (...) The important thing is not who gives Sergio the endorsement, it is that Sergio has an endorsement, that is, that we guarantee Sergio that he will to have the opportunity to be a presidential candidate and that he will not find himself in the position where, because he does not have a party, then he cannot run. This problem has been solved”, added the pre-candidate.

Íngrid Betancourt also explained that Sergio Fajardo still cannot receive the endorsement of Verde Oxígeno, taking into account that he is still part of the Centro Esperanza coalition.
