They deny support for affected artisans after fire

Valladolid.- Tenants affected by the incident that occurred over the weekend in the temporary market are desperate due to the lack of capital to reactivate their jobs.

As will be remembered, on Friday night there was a fire due to a short circuit in a post of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and 11 positions were burned.

The tenants had in their premises crafts, jewelry, fruits, vegetables and even a snack.

The municipal authorities granted economic support of 5 thousand pesos and rebuilt their positions, which they can occupy as of Tuesday.

No answer for artisans

Until yesterday, City Council employees finished placing the roofs of small stores made of wooden platforms and cardboard sheets.Even some vendors settled to work yesterday.

On the other hand, artisans still did not receive a response from the City Council to give them a loan to acquire new merchandise and resume their work.

Alma Dzul Noh, one of those affected, asked that he return some metal structures where he hung his products, after in some Facebook photos he realized that the pieces could be rescued.

However, he explained that when asking him for some people, he was told that they were in shelter, but in the municipal palace he was informed that everything threw himself into the trash "because he shrunk".

The artisan said that although the positions are ready they do not have enough material to sell because it burned. He even said that her husband still owes a part of the jewelry that was lost in the incident.

The support is denied

Others affected, such as Lidia María Huchim Loria, who has a clothing post, points out that part of the merchandise she had in bags was damaged. He says he asked for a 1,000 peso support from the City Council, but they denied it.

Of the affected tenants, the only ones who have so far comply with their supports are those who had fruit and vegetable positions.- Wendy Ucán Chan
