They stop a group that stole cars catalysts
The precious metals of car catalysts are a claim for dozens of organized and itinerant bands.The thieves travel kilometers in search of certain vehicles and take advantage of the night to steal these pieces, extract their elements and sell them in the black market.The National Police estimates that in one night these networks can get into the pocket 800 euros.The complaints in Burgos shot at the last quarter and at the provincial police station they got to work to hunt the authors.Just a few days ago they dismantled a criminal group to which half a dozen blows are charged.
The catalyst is a piece anchored to the exhaust tube that car manufacturers began to install in the mid 90s to reduce emissions and were less harmful.These components are made of materials such as paladium, rhodium and platinum.This last precious metal has a lot of exit in the black market of jewels, as its price has come to exceed gold.And it is precisely its price, approximately 30 euros a gram, which attracts numerous criminal gangs that come mostly from Eastern Europe.
