Auction of objects used in the movie Apocalypto to benefit the Mending Kids

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- It's not often that history and Hollywood come together in such an exciting way.

In the epic film Apocalypto directed by Mel Gibson in 2006, the producers meticulously researched the details of the Mayan civilization to recreate all aspects using every last detail to achieve the exquisite costumes.

With the permission of Icon Productions, the past and the future come together in a unique auction to raise money to help sick children.

Mel Gibson has asked that all proceeds from the sale go to Mending Kids, a California-based charity that provides surgical care for children from low-income families around the world.
