Sale of jewelry and vehicles: this is how former President Funes remains according to the Nicaraguan media

The Nicaraguan media Trinchera de La Noticia published that the former Salvadoran president, Mauricio Funes, found a new source of employment in the sale of jewelry and vehicles, presumably illegally. The Nicaraguan media indicates that the former president moved from the residential area where he lived with his life partner, Ada Mitchell Guzmán, on whom another arrest warrant weighs in El Salvador, their son and the children of Funes. Supposedly, the president now lives in the Nuevo Horizonte condominiums, where he would not only have bought the largest residence, but also the parking area where the media assures that it built a warehouse for 40 vehicles that it sells "to people linked to the government, Sandinismo and merchants." The Nicaraguan digital media also cites that the former president has been seen carrying a gym bag full of jewelry, which he personally sells. Funes reacted this morning on Twitter alleging that the publication of the Nicaraguan media is false. "I thought that those of El Mundo were more serious. They rehash a false note from a Nicaraguan right-wing pamphlet that does not enjoy any credibility. I neither live in a condo nor rent a warehouse. Nor do I sell jewelry or vehicles. I live off my salary as a Consultant," Funes wrote.

The six arrest warrants

A month ago, the Specialized Court of Instruction A of San Salvador issued the sixth -and so far the last- arrest warrant against the former Salvadoran president, Mauricio Funes, linked to crimes of corruption. This latest arrest warrant is for illegal groups and Breach of duties in the criminal case known as a gang truce. However, there are other prior arrest warrants. What are they?
  1. He has a pending arrest warrant for the Public Looting case where he is charged with money laundering of more than $351 million.
  2. He also has an arrest warrant for alleged bribes to the former attorney general, Luis Martínez, for the Corruptela case.
  3. The Prosecutor's Office opened a file on him and a court issued an arrest warrant for favoring the Italian company in the construction of the El Chaparral dam.
  4. He has a fourth order for revealing the Suspicious Operations Report, a confidential document of the prosecution according to the law, in the case of former President Francisco Flores.
  5. He also has a fifth arrest warrant for tax evasion.
