My Father's Violin (Babamin Kemani) is a Turkish film directed by Andac Haznedaroglu. It stars Gülizar Nisa Uray, Engin Altan Düzyatan and Belçim Bilgin.
A girl is left without her father (because of tobacco). An uncle of hers, a famous violinist, will have to take care of her.
All feeling, but everything, everything. If you don't like those movies that go straight to the heart... run away. You have to go with the "orphan girl" roll (and charming, okay) and a script built exclusively to reach the soul.
It is not because in the climactic scenes the film is accompanied by classical violin music, it is that the entire film is starred by the violin. To say that he abuses (easy) sentimentality is a bit of a low key, it is rather an easy formulation one sequence after another. He even has a lovely puppy to give us all the sorrow and joy in the world.
Of course, if you're into sentimentality (we insist), you're going to love it... and also on the low side.
Technically, much better: good shots, good photography, well-done shots and a more than decent and careful production.
Of course, you have to know how to overcome all this exacerbated feeling. It is well developed and the characters built from the intention of the theme.
Very careful about the sound aspect (it does not disappoint us at all in this aspect).
We saved it because of its technical aspects. You have to have a day wanting to explore the most raw feelings.
Of course, from the comments we have received… people love it!
And what matters is the people.
