Bits of windows and bottles are the main raw materials that Juan Fuente (Boiro, 1972) uses in his workshop. Materials that were condemned to certain death become, after passing through their hands, artisan pieces. Small decorative items and, above all, costume jewelery make up the range of products that are hidden under his brand, Tejeluz.
Juan Fuente was not always a craftsman, but he was a glassmaker. For a quarter of a century he worked in a glass factory and little by little he became hooked on the artistic branch of the trade. To develop it as he wanted, he set up his own business and, depending on the demand, it evolved. From stained glass he moved on to decorative items and is now fully immersed in the world of jewelry. He assures that people are fleeing more and more from useless objects: "At the time there were two ornaments for a house that went by, now they look for pieces that have utility."
And her specialty is giving junk objects a chance: «I like to recycle material, doulle unha second vida ao cristal». He rescues colored bottles and pieces of glass, cuts small pieces and assembles them, after giving them the chosen shape, in a special oven. The process is not easy and requires extra effort, but the Boirense believes that it is worth it to obtain the desired result, which is none other than materializing the ideas that emanate from his head.
