Dozens of memorials to the attacks have been erected around the world, many of them made from the rubble of the WTC.

Planning and executing the attacks is estimated to have cost US$500,000

The US Federal Aviation Administration projected what the airspace closure after the attacks looked like.

Faced with the threat of Flight 93, the National Guard sent two jets to intercept the aircraft in the air, but the pilots did not have time to properly load their planes. If they were to intercept the United plane, the pilots had to fly their jets into the aircraft with no guarantees of their own ejection. They knew they were embarking on a suicide mission. In the end, they didn't have to, as the aircraft they were chasing crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.

And the students?

Thousands of children and youth who were at school or college in lower Manhattan on the day of the terrorist attacks found themselves plunged into a war zone. They are now dealing with the fact that as a result of their exposure to the dust cloud, they may face life-long, potentially fatal diseases. Many already show signs of heart conditions.

The federal government was reorganized after the attacks and a new agency was created: the Department of Homeland Security. Through this, and through the Patriot Act, the espionage of citizens has been facilitated. His budget has increased over the years.

In addition to this, the budget for the “Global War on Terrorism” made the US military spending increase substantially, in contrast to other sectors such as education or health.
