Friend who dyes, we know how to make hair color last LONGER

Hair dyes

Brunettes, chestnuts, redheads, blondes and, above all, girls who dye their hair in a thousand fantasy colors, we ALL share the same concern: how to make our hair color last longer. That it lasts longer as if it had just come out of the hairdresser's, of course: intense, bright, soft. Mission Impossible? Well, it turns out not if you know how to take care of it (and some other little trick).

Of course, we love to dye ourselves, change our look, try new colors and give ourselves highlights or, directly, we want to cover the gray hair that lurks sooner or later. However, we have to admit that it is not ideal for our hair, which needs special care since, according to Mario Anes, artistic director of Cotril Spain, "it is slightly more alkaline, that is, it has more open scales".

"This is because the products used to give that color contain chemicals that are very alkaline and cause the cuticle to open in order to deposit the color. As a result, the hair lightens, but the price to pay is increased dryness, dullness and increased frizz."

And what's the catch?

Well friend, the key is to balance the pH of your hair. Of course, if you dye or wear highlights, you should use specific products to care for your hair and protect the color that are more acidic and whose objective is to seal the hair cuticle. In the Cotril line for colored hair, citrus oils are added to their formulas to achieve a more acidic pH as well as nourishing and giving shine to the hair.
