When reading the packaging of any facial, body or hair care product, we can be left with the same doubts we had at the beginning, since which are words that perhaps we had never heard. We consulted the experts Ana González, international esthetician at Sisley París, and Disaraeli Jiménez, dermalogical education manager, who with their knowledge helped us list some of the most common -and effective- ingredients to combat oily skin, one of the types skin types more common in men.
Knowing some of the most common ingredients to combat oily skin in men, the next step is to choose the products. We must consider that we can find a wide variety of options, including cleansers, toners, moisturizers, serums, masks and even sunscreens. The important thing to understand is that the entire routine will NOT have to be anti-oily, because if all the products focus on it, the skin will dry out. Having one or two products focused on keeping sebum on the skin under control will suffice.
The toner a, our consideration, is the key to succeeding in the battle with excess shine on the face, the Origins Zero Oil will be a faithful friend -rather, bodyguard- that will not leave you wrong. As for the moisturizing formulas, there is Dermalogica's Smart Response serum and Shiseido's Hydro Master Gel, both composed of fruit and flower extracts, which will maintain the correct hydration levels without the need for a shiny face. Finally, if you are looking for a weekly ally, there is Sisley's Depply Purifying mask, with incense and myrrh, it helps to balance and absorb excess sebum from the skin.
Oily skin in men can be a nightmare, but for good news we have already found that products focused on controlling it are quite effective. The only thing we must take into consideration is that these can cause a secondary effect on the skin, which is dehydration or dryness. Hence the importance of these two aspects: first, it includes a formula that has the famous hyaluronic acid or niacinamide among its assets to keep the skin in good condition. Second, if you find that the oil-control formula is over-drying your skin, you can moderate its use. Perhaps use it only in the morning routine or every other day.
