What do I have to put in my bag when I go out to party?

After coming of age, university and post-university stage, which is where I am now, I have learned over the years what are the basics that I should carry in my bag to survive a successful night out .

Party survival when you are a woman depends on that accessory that you carry with you. It may seem silly, but choosing your content well can be the difference between life and death. Or between being healthy and a cold at least.

Let me share with you my knowledge on the subject, the result of countless bad experiences that can be summed up in the phrase “I wish I had put that in my bag“.

1.Paper tissues: essential from minute one, the one in which he is already happier than the others and spills a little of his glass. Tissues are highly prized in club bathrooms since, as everyone knows, they never have paper. If you want to avoid the maneuver of shaking yourself around the different urinals in your city, the handkerchief does the trick for you. It's also perfect for drying your friend's tears when she remembers her ex or for her to wipe her mouth if she ends up throwing up.

2. Tampons/pads: because no matter how regular you are, you NEVER know if your period is going to surprise you or a friend. As a pro-cup woman that I am, I always try to carry a compress with me just in case. Not just in my party bag, but in my purse in general.

3. Loose euros: at certain times of the night finding change can be more difficult than getting up early on Mondays, that's why coins save you from all kinds of trouble: from buying some chewing gum in the Chinese to paying for the wardrobe.

¿Qué tengo que meter en el bolso cuando salgo de fiesta?

4.Basic cosmetics: no, don't say to put your makeup bag in. There are two cosmetics that solve any mess. And we all know that no matter how well made up we leave the house, it is an ephemeral illusion that fades throughout the night. The concealer can nuance that half-erased eye line or that dark circle that starts to appear again, while the lipstick reviews the color that we have already left in the glasses and even manages as a blush.

5. Ballerinas: those that at 18 did not even cross your mind to put them in your bag but now you are able to return home from the subway if for whatever reason you have thought of going out without them. Ideally, you should carry a bag large enough to fit you. But you can always get one of those tights that roll up on themselves. What is it like to go barefoot down the street, they are so thin? Yes. That you no longer walk like newborn Bambi and for that alone they are worth it? Also.

6. Mini cloth bag: you already know what bags I am referring to, the ones with two handles that if you fold them well, they occupy less than a neutrino. They are the same ones that your mother unfolds at the Alcampo checkout when she has already paid for the purchase, the one in which she puts cereal, fruit, vegetables, detergent, a plant, two sets of sheets and a new coffee maker. The mini bag is key for the wardrobe moment, since you can put your bag/scarf/gloves/umbrella etc without worrying about carrying a small bag and, above all, it allows you to return home with dignity without going with heels in your hand as a social dispossession (yes, that's how I felt when I brought them by the hand, returning home at 7 in the morning, crossing paths with those workers who were so neat and tidy).

7. Small wallet: you need the subscription, your ID and money. Your library, gym, university, Carrefour, Betis, Stradivarius or language school membership cards are totally expendable and all they do is take your place.

8. Jacket: the big difference when you go out after the nightclub closes. If Rose had been wearing a little jacket when the Titanic sank, Jack wouldn't have frozen to death.

9.Food: Unless you're one of those people who doesn't get hungry when it comes out, the rest of us return home starving and attack the fridge with more fury than a Viking horde conquering new lands. For that moment of weakness that is the return trip, if no kebap/pizzeria/supermarket open 24 hours catches you, you can take a bar or, as I do, an apple. They'll look at you weird, but you'll appreciate it.
