Rakuten and Telefónica launch an app to check events and buy tickets directly from Movistar+

Luxembourg/Madrid, September 15, 2021 – Rakuten and Telefónica have announced the launch of the Rakuten Living App on Movistar+. Movistar Fusión users in 1.4 million homes that have the UHD Decoder can now access this new digital experience that connects online entertainment with live events from the comfort of their sofa.

The Rakuten Living App joins the Movistar+ catalog of digital experiences. Users will be able to very easily discover the schedule of live events and other entertainment activities on television in various Spanish cities such as Madrid, Malaga or Barcelona. In addition, tickets can be purchased for events in other major European cities, including London or Berlin.

The Living App integrates with voice management through Aura, Telefónica's virtual assistant with AI. Customers can access and navigate Rakuten content by voice thanks to the Movistar+ Voice Command simply by saying “Open Rakuten” and also through the Movistar Home device by touch or by saying “OK Aura, open Rakuten”.

With this collaboration, users will not only be able to buy tickets through the Living App, they will also accumulate points in their Rakuten account with each purchase. These points can be exchanged for gift cards on the Rakuten.es affiliation platform, latest releases on Rakuten TV, ebooks on Kobo, credit on Viber or Fan Tokens.

In the Living App you can find tickets for digital or face-to-face events, shows and concerts directly on Movistar+. The user must choose the categories they want: "Sports", "Family", "Theatre", "Promotions", "Festivals", "Relax and Spa" and many others.

Each category includes a number of experiences. The app provides useful information such as price, date, time and location, as well as a description of the event, the minimum age of the participants and the sanitary measures proposed for the event in accordance with local Covid regulations.

Once selected, a QR code is generated on the TV screen that directs consumers to the secure payment on the Rakuten.es website where they can log into their Rakuten.es account, complete the purchase and accumulate Rakuten points .
