Eleven Corrientes municipalities will receive assistance to revalue their historical heritage

Eleven community chiefs and municipal officials from different cities in the interior of Corrientes met with the Minister of Culture of the Nation, Tristán Bauer, to advance efforts to revalue old towns and cultural and historical heritage in their communes.

The meeting that was managed by the provincial Senator, José "Pitin" Aragón is part of the deepening and expansion of national policies to promote the development of municipal efforts. "We managed to advance in the accompaniment by the Ministry of Culture of the nation in the revaluation of old buildings and cultural heritage, which is in each municipality," explained the provincial legislator.

The participants were Leonardo Tomás Aguirre, mayor of Felipe Yofre; Osvaldo Roberto Pérez, mayor of Bonpland; Hugo Daniel Benítez, mayor of Esquina; Norberto Javier Billordo, mayor of Santa Lucía; Hugo Sebastián Ynsaurralde, mayor of 9 de Julio; Emiliano Fernández Recalde, mayor of Virasoro; Maria Cloricea "Marisa" Brambilla; mayor of Parada Pucheta; Martin Ignacio "Tincho" Ascua, mayor of Paso de los Libres; Diego Martin "Tape" Caram, mayor of Mercedes. The national deputy, Jorge Antonio Romero; the provincial deputy Aida Angélica Díaz.

Eleven municipalities in Corrientes will receive assistance to revalue their historical patrimonies

The Ministry of Culture will assist with the facilitation of resources to invest in restoration works as is already done in some municipalities of Corrientes, for example, Esquina, which restored an old and renowned club, turning it into a museum. There objects dating from 1,700 onwards are exhibited.

The case of the Gobernador Virasoro commune in the northwest of the province, prepares a San Martin mural that is also part of its historical proposal in the city. The municipality of San Roque prepares the restoration of its old church that is located in front of the main square of the commune. It is part of the historical heritage of the city of San Roque.

Each of the projects presented by the mayors will be accompanied by the national portfolio that so far during the pandemic, from March 2020 to October 2021, has invested $209,728,039 throughout the province of Corrientes. These resources were turned to different sectors linked to culture, workers and artisans who are in the province.
