A little history of Coach to celebrate its 80 years

Coach was born in 1941 in a loft in New York, the same year that this city was named the capital of fashion. At that time, the store had a different name and its production was focused on leather goods, with collections of bags and wallets, inspired by the tanned leather of baseball gloves. Twenty years later, pioneering designer Bonie Cashin joined Coach, guiding it down a path that prioritized design quality and functionality, something that remains at the heart of the brand.

For decades, the brand continued to expand. As the new millennium dawned, Coach not only went public on the New York Stock Exchange, but opened its first flagship store on Madison Avenue and established Coach Japan, Inc, as well as Coach China, Inc. by the end of the first decade.
